Check out this stunning log home: Its grand staircase is just one of its many perks

One of the major drawing points of a log cabin is its connection with its surroundings. As much as we want the cabin's interior to be superb, we have no intention of being cooped up inside. The handcrafted Respite Lodge from Maple Island Log Homes has found the happy medium with its stunningly rustic interior decor and expansive rear porch offering near-panoramic views.
On their Facebook page, Maple Island writes about Respite Lodge: "Great things come in a small package." After taking a look around, we can't help but agree. There are so many striking elements — the dramatic entryway, the grand staircase, the clawfoot tub — that make this log home truly special.

We love the footbridge leading up to the front door. It's almost like leaving the real world and entering a log cabin fairytale.
The soaring ceiling makes the great room feel even greater. The windows, too, add to the brightness of the room.
The stone fireplace is truly majestic, and those stairs lead down to a bonus room we'll visit later.
This is the kitchen, complete with a stone island and sunny breakfast nook.
Can we please call attention to the bucket light fixtures above the dining room table? Such a unique rustic touch!
The perfectly imperfect logs that comprise the staircase are beyond envy-worthy.
The master bedroom even has its own fireplace!
That farmhouse sink and its elegant faucet are nearly too beautiful to use.
Your stress won't stand a chance after a soak in this glorious tub.
The Respite Lodge has a full laundry room and the view from the window above the sink makes scrubbing out stains hardly a chore.
Remember that special downstairs room? The owners of the Respite Lodge chose to convert it into a game room.
The rear porch, however, is where this log home truly shines. It's the ideal place to have a meal, chat with old friends, and enjoy the verdant vista.
