We love how this two-story home uses a subtle change in paneling between the upper and lower levels, giving it character and a more interesting façade. The rising stone chimney works perfectly with the medium-dark wood of the exterior.
The entrance to this lovely home through a separate vestibule leads directly into a huge open-plan area, which includes a light living room and traditional country-style kitchen/dining area. The beautiful polished flooring runs throughout this whole area, with traditional scatter rugs to add warmth.
Decorated in rustic neutral colors, this huge living room has plenty of space for large furniture for the comfort of all the family. The soaring vaulted ceilings are exquisite with high-quality wooden beams as a feature. The double-sided, corner fireplace is a wonderful spot to sit around on cooler evenings.
This log home’s kitchen/diner is something not to be missed. A room of contrasts – traditional and modern, black against white – it manages to mold into the design of the rest of the house while offering all the comforts of a contemporary abode.
This wonderful fisherman’s heaven is bursting with storage space. Cupboards line the upper and lower levels of the kitchen, and the full back wall of the dining area has floor-to-ceiling closets to hide away all your gear.
There are three large bedrooms in this rustic farmhouse with the exquisite master bedroom accessed from the ground floor. The traditional sliding barn door and matching shutters – characteristic of farmhouses in this part of the States – add to the country house ambience with an alternative take on modern design.
There are two bathrooms in the house, both contrasting in style, but with great attention to detail. We absolutely love this free-standing copper sink against the refurbished dark painted furniture – stunning!
It’s hard not to admire all the touches seen throughout this marvelous log home. Designed and made by a local blacksmith, this custom metal railing works perfectly with the wooden beams and ceiling.
