Step inside this tiny rustic cabin. You'll love the clever space-saving design

When we take the plunge and finally move into our special log getaway surrounded by nature, what is it that we miss? It certainly isn’t city life, huge electricity bills, or noisy neighbors. The reality of living in a beautiful wooden cabin in the woods is a dream-come-true for most of us, but storage and space is something we can worry about. There are ways around this tiny problem, though…
This incredible log cabin is located in the silent countryside of Maggie Valley, North Carolina, and was built in 2010 as a perfect escape from the city’s hustle and bustle. Despite having only 773 square feet of living space, there are, in fact, 3 good-sized bedrooms, a full bathroom and an open-plan living area and kitchen. How is it possible? Well, let’s explore…

This tiny classic cabin is everything you imagine in a log home – tongue and groove, light wooden walls; large sheltered front porch; and a soaring triangular roof. It’s rural America at its best. One story, but with an extra upper loft space, this pretty country cabin would make a great permanent or vacation home.
Stepping into the cabin, you enter directly into an open-plan living, dining and kitchen area. Well-spaced-out in order to provide separation between the different rooms, this lovely log cabin offers everything you need. The living room is spacious enough for a big family sofa and appears larger than its actual size due to the soaring vaulted ceilings.
The characteristic treated light wooden floorboards run throughout the home, opening up the space and creating a cozy feel. The dining area is bright and airy due to large windows with excellent views to the outside. In the corner, you’ll notice a small free-standing coal fire – great for warming up the home on colder evenings.
Just look at the amount of upper and lower cupboard space that is built into this compact kitchen! Despite the miniature size, there is more than enough room for all modern day appliances, including a full-sized fridge/freezer, double oven, and dishwasher.
We love the wooden finish used throughout the home and the fact the design allows for privacy within such a compact space.
This wonderful nature retreat boasts 3 good-sized bedrooms, simply decorated in a country-like design. The beamed ceilings give the room character, and plenty of light enters the room from a large side window.
The log cabin’s full bathroom offers lots of storage space with built-in cupboards around the fixtures and fittings. It boasts a large walk-in shower, and even a washer/dryer for your convenience.
Reached from the space-saving, ladder-style stairs, wonderful extra sleeping quarters can be found above in the loft. Bright, open, and warmly decorated, this retreat in the roof has a good amount of room to walk around in despite the traditional sloping ceiling.
Spanning the width of the house at the entrance, this outdoor porch provides the family with a wonderful space for late evening, summer get-togethers, or private reflection.
